Golf in Finland
We have 126 golf courses in Finland in our golf course database.
There are over 100 golf courses in Finland.
In the middle of summer, Finland is in broad daylight 21 hours a day-that is a lot of golfing time! Even if you are not a night owl, if you take a trip to Finland, you have to golf in the middle of the night just to say that you have.
You will be swarmed by green. Everywhere you look, the vegetation is green. The reason you will notice nature so much, is because there are not too many people to destroy it. Finland has the lowest population density in Europe and the biggest love for the environment.
Unlike other courses, most courses in Finland are stand-alones, which means there is no country club or hotel attached to them. But if you find one of the rare resorts, you will be delighted at your findings. The Vanajanlinna for example, is a castle from the 1300s that has been turned into a hotel and golf resort. You are actually sleeping, dining, and playing golf in/at a castle. The golf course is played around the hotel, through its pine forest, and over the surrounding hills.

Proposals to forbid golf courses have about the same motivations as proposals to forbid skate boarding, although the rationalizations are different.

FORE! Lee Westwood ball ends up in a woman's shirt !!!
Lee Westwood hooked his drive on the 13th hole into a crowd of folks at the Ritz Charlton Golf Course as a part of the Accenture Match Play Championship.
This is maybe not news but where the ball landed is incredible..... The ball somehow made it's way into a woman's shirt as seen in the video below.
What would have been funnier is if the lady would have taken a run towards the green and dropped the ball there or even dropped it in the hole :)

The Longest Recorded Drive on an ordinary course is one of 515 yards by Michael Hoke Austin of Los Angeles, California, in the US National Seniors Open Championship at Las Vegas, Nevada on September 25, 1974. Austin drove the ball within a yard of the green on the par 4 450-yard 5th hole of Winterwood Course. It rolled 65 yards past the flag aided by an estimated 35mph tailwind.
